- Manage end-to-end global business process development directly and indirectly impacting Surety business. Includes working with senior leaders and representatives across global operations to understand multiple and potentially diverse workflows; define solutions to meet local and global organizational needs; work across the surety organization to effectively deploy solutions and monitor results.
- As a change agent, effectively drive substantial and continuous improvement across Global Surety, and participate in cross functional problem-solving continuous improvement efforts to define new or document and improve current processes, effectiveness and efficiency.
- Actively lead activities that engage and empower Surety underwriters and aligned teams at all levels across the region regarding continuous improvement of Global Surety business.
- Manages projects to include those considered complex in nature with function-wide impact (e.g., strategically important, technical in nature, large budget, 12-month timeframe, etc.)
- Defines the business case with input from stakeholders. Identifies and gains agreement on project objectives, scope, timing, and resources.
- Act as single point of contact for Surety Underwriting leaders across the region with the ability to connect and bring together stakeholders from across Operations, GRS, Global Surety, and/or Surety Field and Home Office Underwriting teams.
- Plans activities/tasks that will deliver the desired results and oversees day-to-day work and monitoring of progress towards goals.
- Conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports to communicate the status of projects to stakeholders within and beyond the project team.
- Directs stakeholders towards consensus points and typically gains buy-in of recommendations.
- Escalates and works to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk. Identifies and provides visibility into trade-offs between options and influences recommended approach.
- In addition to project management, may also perform some of the work defined in the project roles and responsibilities.
- Performs project close-out steps to include identifying lessons learned/best practices to inform the success of future projects. Applies continuous improvement methodologies throughout the project management lifecycle.
- Provides mentoring to less experienced staff.
- As directed, facilitate meetings and document workflow

- Strong knowledge of project management principles and concepts.
- Strong ability to manage all aspects of the project management life cycle.
- Proficient with project management tools.
- Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.
- Demonstrates a strong continuous improvement mindset
- Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
- Strong business operations knowledge to include understanding the function`s value chain and market conditions strongly preferred.
- Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Working experience to include project management work.
- Strong understanding of the Surety region with basic knowledge of Surety Underwriting.
- Strong language and cultural skills. Bi-lingual in English and Norwegian, preferably Swedish.
