About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support offshore oil & gas projects, with responsibility for electrical system engineering, supplier coordination, procurement follow-up, engineering documentation, calculations, and offshore field activities. The role will work closely with the Discipline Lead, Engineering Manager, suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure safe, high-quality and compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow up on electrical procurement packages, including supplier documentation, drawings, technical queries, and deliverables.
Coordinate with suppliers and review technical documents, drawings, and engineering deliverables.
Provide engineering input to job packages, installation activities, and project execution.
Prepare and update as-built documentation, including supplier drawings and offshore red-line mark-ups.
Perform electrical system engineering for LV consumers, LV systems, and switchboards.
Perform electrical engineering calculations, including short-circuit/fault-level calculations and cable dimensioning.
Support offshore surveys, field verification, and installation-related engineering activities.
Contribute to electrical, instrumentation, automation and control engineering activities as required.
Support engineering of Fire & Gas systems, field instrumentation, valves, layouts, and associated systems.
Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs), requisitions, installation job cards, and other engineering documentation.
Provide technical input to procurement activities related to mechanical packages where required.
Coordinate and cooperate closely with suppliers, clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
Provide engineering input to other disciplines and participate in multidisciplinary coordination.
Identify engineering changes and provide input to change requests and management of change processes.
Perform engineering estimates and assist with planning and scheduling project activities.
Report matters of importance, risks, deviations, and technical issues to the Discipline Lead and Engineering Manager.
Ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and HSSE requirements within assigned projects.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant Vocational/Technical education, BSc, MSc, trade certificate, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry.
Good knowledge of offshore EIT (Electrical, Instrumentation & Telecom) installations and requirements.
Practical experience with LV electrical systems, consumers, switchboards, cable sizing, and electrical calculations.
Experience with supplier coordination, technical procurement, and supplier follow-up.
Strong experience with as-built documentation, tags, drawings, and offshore red-line mark-ups.
Experience with offshore surveys and field engineering is highly desirable.
Knowledge of instrumentation, automation/control, Fire & Gas systems, and field equipment is an advantage.
Ability to perform engineering estimates and plan activities effectively.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and team-oriented environment.
Strong focus on quality, safety, HSSE, and engineering compliance.
Software Skills:
Proficiency with relevant electrical engineering, design, calculation, documentation, and project-specific software tools.
Experience with engineering document management and drawing systems is an advantage.
