JOB DESCRIPTION Lead the Future of Operations Across the North Sea Are you a strategic operations leader with the commercial mindset to drive performance and the leadership skills to inspire high-performing teams? At NOV Tuboscope , we're looking for a Director of Operations - North Sea to lead our regional operations across Norway and the United Kingdom. This is a unique opportunity to shape operational strategy, deliver business growth, and lead one of NOV's most significant operational regions within our Tuboscope business. Reporting to the Vice President Europe & Asia , you'll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and profitable operations while supporting customers across the North Sea energy sector. You'll lead experienced operational teams, influence regional strategy, and help position NOV for continued success in a changing market. About the Role As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the overall operational performance of the North Sea region, ensuring safe, reliable, and profitable delivery of Tuboscope's products and services. You'll provide leadership across multiple operational sites in Norway and the United Kingdom, balancing growth opportunities with operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Working closely with regional and global leadership teams, you'll drive continuous improvement, strengthen commercial performance, and develop future leaders across the organisation. One of your immediate priorities will be supporting the continued growth of our Wired Drill Pipe (WDP) business in Norway while providing steady leadership to our UK operations as market conditions evolve. Your Responsibilities In this role, you will:
- Lead all operational activities across the North Sea region, covering Norway and the United Kingdom.
- Deliver safe, efficient, and profitable operational performance while ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Own the regional P&L and drive sustainable financial performance.
- Lead initiatives to improve working capital, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute operational strategies that support regional business growth and increased market share.
- Lead and develop a geographically dispersed leadership team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders to support long-term business success.
- Champion Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) excellence and ensure compliance with NOV standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Business Unit leadership to achieve strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance while supporting organisational growth and change.
- Significant leadership experience in operations within the energy sector or a comparable industrial environment.
- Proven experience leading regional or multi-site operations.
- Demonstrated accountability for P&L and commercial performance.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing operational leadership teams.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operational performance and commercial objectives.
- Experience driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and organisational change.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience within the North Sea energy market.
- Knowledge of tubular services, OCTG products, inspection services, or related technologies.
- Experience supporting business growth in dynamic market environments.
- Operational Excellence or Continuous Improvement experience.
- MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Lead one of NOV Tuboscope's largest and most strategically important operational regions.
- Influence regional business performance across two countries.
- Work directly with senior business leaders and contribute to regional strategy.
- Develop and mentor experienced operational leaders.
